Synopsis:

Leonora is in love with Alvaro and plans to elope with him. Her father, the Marquis de Calatrava, intercepts them. Alvaro accidentally wounds the Marquis, who dies cursing them. Carlos, Leonora’s brother, swears revenge. Set in Seville in the eighteenth century, the piece explores themes of pride, love, revenge and hope. A late Verdi piece, written right before Don Carlo, La forza del destino boasts perhaps the most famous Verdi overture and plenty of memorable arias, ensembles and choral highlights, in a dramatically compelling and dynamic score.  Like  all the titles featured in the 2010-11 Season, La forza del destino is a premiere for West Bay Opera.

World class opera at affordable prices.
