
Mayor of Palo Alto Salutes West Bay Opera on National Opera WeekOn November 12, Palo Alto Mayor Peter Drekmeier, signed a proclamation saluting West Bay Opera on the occasion of National Opera Week. Palo Alto joins a select group of cities around the country that have chosen to highlight their long-term commitment to supporting opera performances in their communities. “We are delighted,” said West Bay Opera’s General Director, José Luis Moscovich, upon receiving the proclamation; “the Mayor and the City are to be commended for recognizing the importance of promoting and actively supporting the performing arts at the local level, and particularly opera.” West Bay Opera is now selling tickets to its exciting new production of Carl Maria von Weber’s Der Freischütz, which opens February 19. Single ticket holders who attended West Bay Opera’s recent production of La bohème can still opt to purchase a season ticket, by calling the BOX OFFICE at 650-424-9999.
